Anysetiers du Roy was first and still is a restaurant specializing in French cuisine and dating back to the 17th century. In the 1960s, at the end of dinner, each customer of the restaurant received a blend of dried herbs prepared by the chef Louis Lombard. This was a huge success and prompted his sons to produce a line of dried herbs all packaged in clay and stoneware pots you see today.
